Job Purpose
Manage the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of the strategic, administrative and operational performance of the Human Resource (HR) division to ensure compliance with statutory requirements and the School’s policies and procedures. Lead the strategic direction of the School’s workforce and succession planning and driving a workforce culture aligned with the school values.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with Head Office Managers and Academic leaders to develop the HR Strategy and annual HR Implementation Plan to address:
- Workforce management and succession planning.
- Learning and leadership development.
- Attraction, recruitment, selection and retention.
- On-boarding, induction and orientation.
- Position management and classification.
- Performance management and discipline.
- HR issues management.
- Industrial relations management.
- Work closely with Head Office Senior Managers, Managers and Academic Leaders to develop, recommend and update HR policies and procedures.
- Work closely with the Community Relations Manager and the Child Protection Officers (CPOs) to organise trainings for new employees when required.
- Drive organizational culture in alignment with school values, vision, mission and policies.
- Manage implementation of the HR strategy and annual HR implementation plan to ensure effective workforce management and succession planning.
- Prepare and maintain HR Manual detailing policies and procedures.
- Ensure thorough and accurate records-keeping of all recruitment data, personnel files and the division’s records.
- Prepare and monitor the payroll closely and providing support to the finance team regarding payroll related matters as needed (HR-SCP-01).
- Manage implementation of the School’s remuneration structure including the performance and bonus program, and international employee benefits package.
- Develop job descriptions in consultation with the relevant Head Office Senior Managers, Managers, Academic
- Leaders and Heads of Department/ Team Leads.
- Manage recruitment for Head Office and Academic positions including advertising, candidate screening, interviews, reference checks, job offers and contract management (PROCEDURE CODE HR-REC-01).
- Ensure compliance with all Tanzanian statutory requirements including labour law and relevant taxation law.
- Manage international employee immigration matters to ensure compliance with Tanzanian labour and immigration laws and timely implementation of labour and immigration requirements.
- Inform your immediate supervisor of the status of the Employer’s current legal cases when required.
- Provide advice and counsel to Senior Managers, Managers and team members to resolve employee related questions or issues.
- Oversee implementation of International Employee Benefits Package including liaison with medical insurance provider to update them on any changes.
