How I deal with all the negativity on social media – Nairobi News

Celebrated Tanzanian actress and former beauty queen, Wema Sepetu, has revealed her strategy for coping with negativity on social media.

In an interview with CarryMastory, the actress disclosed that she adopts a strict policy of avoiding comments and reactions on her Instagram posts.

“I do not read comments and reactions on Instagram, unless someone comes and shows them to me. That’s how I protect sanity,” Wema said.

Wema acknowledged the incessant chatter surrounding her life but remained resolute in not allowing it to dictate her happiness.

“People will never stop talking, so why should I give them the chance to dictate my life?” she posed.

“There is a lot of negativity on social media. Given a chance, I would deactivate my Instagram account. I love positivity, but the negativity has become too much.”

She said she occasionally encounters negative comments, which she addresses promptly before blocking the users.

“Once in a while, I bump into some of the negative comments. I respond and then block. No one is perfect, so no one should tell me not to respond to negativity,” she said.

Wema, who is rumoured to be in a relationship with fellow celebrity Whozu, once stirred up controversy by attributing polygamy to the male gene.

“There is no man with just one woman; it’s in their nature not to remain loyal to a single woman,” she said in a past interview.

“Even if the man doesn’t have another woman now, he will eventually end up having more than one. It’s the sad, hurtful truth that we need to accept. I have accepted it,” she said.

Her controversial views on polygamy aside, Wema is on record for declaring her undying love for Whozu and her desire to bear a child for him.

“I love him so much, and he loves me too; however, there is one thing (child) that I need to accomplish for him to cement our love,” she once said.
