Avoid leaving young girls with male adults -VSU

By Penlope Sikazwe

Police Victim Support Unit -VSU- National Coordinator, GLORIA MUBITA has appealed to the public to avoid leaving young girls in the care of male adults to protect them from sexual abuse.

Ms. MUBITA says this may reduce the high cases of defilement as most perpetrators are relatives of victims or someone the family is familiar with

She says perpetrators of the vice take advantage of a child’s vulnerability before they strike and that signs of an abused child vary from bed wetting to withdrawn personality.

Ms. MUBITA was speaking to ZNBC news in Lusaka.
